Hamza is a full-stack developer with 6+ years of experience, currently at Emirates NBD in Dubai, UAE. His work spans regulated banking systems, high-traffic marketplaces and, more recently, AI agent and retrieval tooling.
Most of my work sits where a product's complexity actually lives: the data model, the integrations, and the parts that have to stay correct under load. That has meant simulators traders rely on, payment flows that cannot quietly drop a transaction, and search that stays fast as a catalogue grows.
I try to understand the domain before reaching for architecture. Most of the expensive mistakes I've seen were not bad code — they were a correct implementation of a misunderstood requirement, and no amount of refactoring recovers that cheaply.
I favour boring, well-understood technology for anything load-bearing, and keep the interesting choices confined to places where they earn their complexity. When something does need to be clever, it gets tests and comments explaining why, because the person maintaining it will not have the context I had.
I like owning a feature end to end — schema through deployment. Handing off at a boundary tends to be where the accountability goes missing.
